PATIENT ADMISSION

TEDIAS – A Test and Development Centre for Digital Patient Admission Systems

TEDIAS

What is TEDIAS?

First off: Tedias helps to save time and permits the fastest and best possible treatment of patients during admission through automatic registration of their data.

Anyone who has ever attended a doctor’s surgery or a hospital knows the score: Before treatment can begin, the doctor asks a number of questions about the patient’s health. Within what is known as taking a case history, the patient’s medical data and previous medical history is documented. Often the first basic medical data, known as vital signs, such as heart rate and breathing rate are registered. This is the only way to determine further diagnostic, therapy processes and follow-up.

As the starting point for all medical treatment, the patient’s admission examination has a decisive influence on all the following processes and, ultimately, on the success of the treatment. Correct and uniform registration of all relevant patient data is therefore of enormous significance. Currently, this important process is time-consuming and labour-intensive and the documentation is often not consistently uniform. This frequently results in the same questions being asked multiple times, causing stress for the medical staff and long waits for the patients.

WHAT CAN TEDIAS DO FOR YOU?

TEDIAS AS A REAL LABORATORY

Our offer – a framework for the development and validation of digitalisation solutions in an integrated setting.

The key to implementing digital solutions in hospitals is data consistency between the individual systems and orchestration of the entire admission process. For this, TEDIAS creates a framework where these components come together and can be easily extended or replaced. This creates the ideal environment to develop and validate innovative digitalisation solutions and measurement technology for the health care sector in an integrated setting in the clinic. The TEDIAS consortium offers an interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, engineers and developers.

THE TEDIAS CABIN

Patient data structured and integrated into your processes from the outset.

The aim of TEDIAS is to automate the routine processes involved in medical hospital admissions in a way which takes pressure off staff and prevents the same questions being asked repeatedly while at the same time generating high-quality data needed for subsequent follow-up and research work. For this purpose, integrated sensors for automatic registration of relevant vital signs are included. The only thing the patient has to do is take a seat. In the time which is usually spent waiting, the person’s heartbeat, blood pressure, oxygen saturation in the blood, grip and temperature can be measured. While this is going on, the patient’s medical history and symptoms are registered by a virtual doctor, and the information regarding the upcoming treatment provided. Instead of spending a long while in the waiting room, patients are therefore actively involved in their own admission process and the pressure can be taken off medical staff.

TEDIAS CONSULTING

TEDIAS aims to lay the foundations for the digital hospital of the future

The implementation of a project like TEDIAS requires expertise and experience in a number of thematic areas. From the engineer, to the university professor and the doctor in the hospital, every perspective has to be represented. This has created a network of experts who, in addition to the development of the TEDIAS cabin itself, can offer sustained added value for hospitals in Germany.
